how possible is it to get a knife reground to full convex? for a full flat ground blade or a knife like the kershaw skyline, something like that.

Tom Krein is the man you want im not sure if he does convex, but he did some awesome work on my zdp delica.

Just convex the edge. Thats the only thing that matters anyways.

Not really, when a blade has a full convex from edge to spine the material being cut has a smooth flowing surface to glide past while the edge does the cutting. Less points of contact = less friction and smoother cutting, when you cut meat or chop wood the effect is easily noticed. Blade geometry plays a bigger part in cutting than the cutting edge.

Looking at my Skyline I can't see how it would be possible to do a full convex grind without taking out a pretty large section of the cutting edge. Its just to thin of a hollow grind for such a transformation. However I have seen a few forumites post pics of their reground Skylines and they are very cool with an extra thin slicing edge. Someone on here also reground one into a tanto edge.

I convex-ground one side of my Delica using a belt sander and a DMT XXC stone.

Tom did a Full convex on my Spyderco Moran FB01 which comes as a full flat grind from the factory. It works really well!

He also did a full convex on my Spyderco Native Lightweight C41PBK which comes as a saber hollow grind.
