Hey everyone, I’m getting a new logo design for my knife making. It’s a contest so I get to choose the one i like the best. The ones that I chose are some of my favorites so far. Click this link and help me decide which one you like the best so far. Thanks, Linus

This is good advice.

Personally, I want the makers mark on my knives to be small and subtle. I've literally avoided buying knives that I've liked because they have big fat logos on them that take up too much space.
 
Not all logos are Googable. I would think that it would be a bad idea to have a maker's mark that can't be found through an easy search. Darn near daily in these very pages is proof of that.

I hear where you are coming from for sure, Dave. But these new apps that allow you to take a photo of something and it finds same things all over the interwebs helps in this day in age. :)

Yes, definitely. Whichever one I choose, I will just put the little design on the knife. Not the text “Linus's knives”.

I like how you do it. lil logo on the front and name on the back. Many knife buyers in my world aren't quite sure what an app is! Then they update your phone and it don't work for a couple of weeks.

This is so true! Haha. I actually haven’t “used” the app I was talking about, but some friends have been raving about it.

That comment about “updating and then not working” made me chuckle, because there is so much truth to that!

Thank you for the kind words. I think the logo on front and the name on reverse on leather is quite effective. My posts in this particular thread were in relation to logos on knives. I’m of the same mindset as Josh SwissHeritageCo SwissHeritageCo in that the cleaner, the better. I do however fully understand where you are coming from and I think either way is acceptable. I guess it’s just a decision based on who the target customer is.

I also like subtle, less is More...and logos/Names shouldn't be taken lightly.
