Getting All Mushy

Hi All,

I just wanted to get mushy for a moment.

I've been a reader of this forum for a very long time, but only joined in the last 2 or 3 months. I was really nervous to join. I don't deal well with confrontation, and rude/mean/sarcastic people really bum me out. I worried that this would be a forum with a lot of attitudes and negativity.

In reality, joining Bladeforums is one of the best knife-related things I've ever done. I enjoy, equally, offering my advice and opinion and knowledge as much as I enjoy asking for advice. It's really done a lot to enrich my love of knives and my passion for the hobby.

Since I've joined I've learned a lot and I think I've come to appreciate and value my love for knives on a totally different level.

Anyway, you're all great and this is a really wonderful community and I'm so proud and honored to be a part of it. I'm really excited to become a gold member in the near future and continue to value and enjoy this fantastic atmosphere.

Most are decent folks..and even those who like to argue and be pushy ain't that bad.;)

BF is no doubt the best forum to be a part of because opinions are not suppressed by the moderators. The more you read, you'll figure out who the trolls are and be able to ignore them and gain knowledge in all the threads.
Don't forget, there is an ignore feature here.
 
Most members are really kind, generous people. But there are always those out there that ruin it for some people. Welcome, glad you are enjoying the forum.

Good to hear you are enjoying the fourm, it's a far cry from many of the popular gun sites. Has this forum started to effect your checkbook yet? It's the price to pay to own some really nice knives from top makers.

The best advice I can give you is:
- Read the rules and sticky threads, each section has it's own set of guidelines. Simple enough
- Search, lots of time answers to basic questions can be found near skeletal remains of horses
- Posting in the correct section is a good idea, if you are unsure look around or ask.
 
Glad you like it here. Best to read, but not engage in W&C if that is not your thing. The other forums are by and large informative and respectful.

W&C is designed to allow a little venting and (hopefully) good natured banter. I've noticed its been kind of mean spirited lately, but hopefully that won't affect the other forums.
 
go on .... you just knew that putting 'mushy' in the thread title was a shoo-in for bladeforums views and responses :D
