Getting chips out of scandi grind 3V?

What would be the best way of sharpening out chips in a scandi grind blade out of 3V? I ended up over cutting a branch yesterday and the tip area of the blade bounced off the brick floor..... Since its 3V, I dont really sharpen the blade often. Would it be easier to increase the angle, sharpen out the chips, and then grind it back down to a flat scandi grind? Or should I just keep on going at the original bevel?

Not very deep I guess. If I'm cutting wood it really isn't that big of a deal I guess (and this knife is mainly what I bringing when hiking and such, it's not an EDC knife). I had one slight chip before and I've lived with it for months already. It's just when I cut with a slicing motion, such as on paper, I can feel them catching the paper and shredding it a little.

I'd go at the original angle, knowing it would take a lot more time, but it's the only way I'd be happy.

Do you really like the scandi grind? I'd send it off to Tom Krein and get it back as a full flat grind. Sharpens much easier, cuts better also, imo.

Well use another knife for cutting your paper.
The chips will go away with normal use and sharpening:)

if it's one of mine, I'll gladly regrind the tip - just cover shipping. ;)

Thanks for the offer Dan. It is indeed one of your bushcrafts from the mid tech run.

Well, I polished up the edge again and decided to leave it as is. I mainly use it for push cuts, not slices so its not a big deal. I'll just slowly wear in the chips as a sharpen naturally. If it does end up annoying me too much I'll prob send it back in.

Ok - offer stands at anytime.
