Here's what I have been up to today, 9 in 416 layer damascus steel! Today I hand sanded the flats to 1000 grit, signed them and did the acid etch. I just oiled them after neutralizing and took some quick pics.

That's not a broken tip on the kiridashi, it is stabbing the box!

Thanks!

They are all flat ground in this batch, the dashis will have back bevels and the others will be sharpened on the main side.

Those are amazing! I wish I could take them all, but I'd really like to call dibs on one of the edc's please.

;]

Pics of the watson when I get it! O_O Maybe today...

Daniel- Do check out a BBK folder. These knives all too often fly under the radar.

Wow, they look great Daniel. Can't wait to hold mine.

Thanks! I changed a few things in my process and I think it is the most contrast I have gotten in an etch yet! They have more going on than the pics show too...

I'm making sheaths for them right now, waiting on the oven... :D

If these come up while I'm on my way to work, I'll scream...

But I have the luck of a three-legged mutt in a hydrant-pissing contest lately.

I'm thinking the three leg action could be an advantage. :D

They won't be today... I'll keep you guys updated! soon...

Nah. Lift leg, fall over.

OK. Now I can go to work, via HF for a plunge router to make slots for belt loops. I'm tired of custom cutting and folding things for non-conventional holsters. The loop/attachment I had to make for my tanto-cleaver sheath is rigoddamdonkulously overbuilt, and still not what I want. I'm just gonna attach some nice rounded rectangles to the sides, with .25" wide, 1.75" slots for my riggers belts.

Router, sounds cool!

Let me know if you need a tek lok, I emailed you about me owing you one... I can get you a big one.

I want to try to mill some slots... an end mill in a drill press might do the trick too. ...still trying to figure out a good way to hold/clamp a molded sheath.

Bako, you should see our dog. That little bastaid is the only dog I ever seen that can cock 1 leg, hop on the other 3, and piss on both sides of a corner. You have to see it to believe it, my hand to God.
