Hi guys, I was wondering if there are any people in the Sacramento area that pratice Sayoc Kali. I am looking forward to the day when Guro Jeff comes up my way. But until then I was hoping I could find some knid of information on where to start learning the art. I post on the Sayoc.com Forum under the name of ErinMT. So you should remember me Guro Jeff. I would really appriciate any help you can give me.

Hello,

Post the question on the Sayoc Public Forum, that way any other interested practitioners will get in contact with you directly. Guro Jeff is on his way out to San Diego May 18th, so definitely hook up for some training.

If you want to drive to San Francisco, we have a training group that meets every two weeks on Saturday. Email me if you are interested.

Sidewinder: Could you discuss how your group trains?

Also, and sorry if I'm hijacking the thread, but can someone give me a brief description of sayoc's techniques and strategies? thanks!

Well Joe. I'm new to Sayoc and it's uses. But the little I've been able to read I got from the Sayoc Public forum. Go to

www.sayoc.com

You should find all the info there. And thanks for the offer Sidewinder. You should get an email from me very soon.

...I have heard that you were trained as a boxer. I have a "brother" in PA that started that way and progressed into FMA eventually. He did a lot of CQC stuff, too. He told me that when he started training seriously in edged combatives after leaving the forces, he just practiced with a training blade in each hand. With various grips, he struck targets repeatedly using the same moves from boxing. When I first met to train with him, he was already quite formidable and he was close to approaching fifty years old. I am sure that the FMA he learned from me as well as others further enhanced what was already quite excellent skills. I recommend Sayoc Kali. It is an excellent edged combatives training methodology and I find it to be quite thorough and concise. Cheers.
