Hello all!
Just drove home from the CA Custom show in LA and thought i would show off some of my scores. My girlfriend at I both ended up winning on the second day, quite the surprise after striking out at G4.
She went ahead to got a 4in Brown Anodized Spanto and I got the DLC Brown 3 inch. Also pictured is my 3.5 that i carry.... well... not any more.

On a side note i would like to thank Rob and Rick for coming out, it was great to see them again. They are some of the kindest people i have yet to meet. Im honored to be a part of such a fantastic community of people.

I like the logo! Its there, but its subtle..

Geez, seeing them next to each other, that 4" looks like a beast!

i have to say once i saw the posts i didn't know how i felt, after seeing them in person i fell in love with them.

Very nice scores! I got lucky too, and won the other brown DLC one that they had on the first day. So happy! I struck out at G4 too. I wasn't even expecting to win, I kind of subconsciously heard my name and a few seconds later I was like "oh shit, that's me!". It was a great time and I am really grateful to Hinderer as well. Really good show with tons of people and tons of good knife makers. I'm very grateful I won, but a little surprised considering how many people there were at the show, including people having whole families of literally 10 people enter the lottery for them! :D I rarely get lucky with this type of stuff but I'm really glad I got lucky in this particular lottery. I also picked up a custom Jason Brous fixed blade, a few pieces of G10, a Maxpedition bag for carrying my gun and ammo/supplies to the range, and a T-shirt. All in all it was a great time.

Thanks so much to Rick Hinderer Knives!

Pibb!!! Way to go brother, nice to see that you scored at the CA show! Those are beautiful

Great looking knives and I concur on the logo. When I first saw pics I was kind of like "meh.." but in person they are much more subdued. I was only able to make the 1st day of the show and although I struck out at the lottery, I at least appreciated the chance to participate. This was the first knife show I've attended in over 10 years and it was nice to be able to handle the Hinderer's since the lottery was at the end of the day and everyone at the booth was super friendly. Child care duties kept me from arriving to the show early and by the time I arrived, the tables of most of the other makers I was interested in were already empty with no plan to restock for Sunday's show. Neat experience but at least with the lottery I feel like I have a shot. Otherwise it seems a bit like seeing the kids waiting in line to buy a new iPhone 10 hours before the store opens. Works OK if you are young or without family responsibilities but as a "grown up" I much prefer the chance to own something without a stampede :-)

A Dragg I feel you man. Was a tad upset when I saw a few of the dealers with those huge families in the Lotto. What I found to be the most upsetting was when one of the family members won the family member was asked what knife she chose and she said "an orange one" lol it would be one thing if I saw one of you guys there with your family, but another when its a dealer :/ but such is life. That's how they make there money. I can't complain lol I got very lucky.
And thanks all for the congrats!!

Add me to the not a fan of "stacking the odds" club.

From the pictures, it looked 2-3x worse than last year. I remember only one person who had a ridiculous amount of people with him. The others it was only a wife or gf and that was it. Some brown dlc's to match, very nice and congrads!

Oh wow, now I get it. I didn't realize it was dealer. I thought it was just the "need" to get 2+ knives out of each lottery just to have and cherish, which is at least understandable (although not "right" IMHO). I didn't realize it was just to turn around and make a profit on them. I wasn't surprised to see several lotto knives show up at dealers tables after they were sold by the winners, but I didn't realize there were actually dealers with an entire family's worth of entries in the lottery. Without getting into it too much, yeah, it's a little disappointing. If you're a civilian who wants a Hinderer or a custom Emerson really badly and can't afford the secondary market price, then it's only human to have your wife or whatever enter for you. But the dealers can order direct, they shouldn't stack the odds way in their favor just for a chance to resell that same knife to the people who weren't so lucky for triple the price. Or at least just enter once and live with the same odds as those who actually want a knife to keep.

At the G4 show I had several dealers ask to be my "partner" in the lotteries. But yeah, I can't complain either, at least I got one amazing knife, and that's all I needed (although I really, really wanted to go home with a Les George as well as my XM-18, but one dealer had to have 3 of them). I'm glad someone who actually wanted the knife was able to get two! Congrats man!

No one approaches me to ask for my partnership in lottos, and I do not need assistance if I ever get to the table. Some here know what I'm hinting at...

And it should be obvious by now that I feel those who really want the knives and travel all the way for a chance to get a knife for THEM should be those who win lottos.

But reality is different. Is what it is. Once you own anything, it's yours to sell or trade as you wish.

agreed Need2Know.
and yes :( its served me well, but the brown anodized has my heart. its sentimental to me, when ever i see if i get that feeling when i got my name called at the lotto lol also i wasn't anticipatingd winning 2 knives lol i need the money for alittle tritium pimping im doing on a V10R i just got :)
