Hey folks. Took my BK4 camping for the first time this weekend. I gave it a thorough trial, and I must say that I like this thing even better than I thought I would. Great job on this design, Uncle E!

Here's some pics:

Harvesting fatwood. It really performed well for chopping and prying the rotten wood away to get to the good stuff.

From the pic it looks like we have similar tastes in knives.

I've got to get my BK4 out for some more dirt time too. It is definitely an interesting and useful design.

Happy to see your Machax doing what I designed it to do...... Love the pix..... Thanks for the post.....

The BK4 Machax is so good at so many things that sometimes one can forget how good they are at wood processing.

In all seriousness, the BK4's learning curve is rewarding; it's a great knife.

Great to see a Machax in the wild....one of my very favorite woods bumming tools - though it didn't start off that way. Glad to see you're enjoying it....even more than you thought you would!

I know I'm as guilty as anyone of not using my machax as often as I should. I just never got 100% comfortable with it and that's no fault of the design. I definitely need to get out and get some dirt time with my 4 and 15.

You're making me wish I got some pics this past weekend when I took my 4 out on the quad - great trail clearing blade!

I never "got" the 4. Then I got one. If I was picking a knife to go off in the woods here, it would be the 4. It does so many things well.
I get it now.
