getting my first self-chosen, traditional knife!

Zip's right. Buying a good slipjoint is like eating potato chips...bet you can't buy just one! :D

after buying my first Case, I felt the same way, totally stoked, now I have become my own worst enemy, I can't seem to stop buying, only one more, only one more, say the voices. :D

Rusty, that's the other Case's talking to you, wanting you to spring their buddies. Mine do it to me all the time! :D

freekboi, I'm glad I'm not the only one,:) What's that Trapper, yeah, yeah, the Stockmans next, don't worry! :D

That's a very nice little Jack! It's sort of like a slightly larger version of the peanut (I did say "sort of"). I'm sure you'll be very happy with it.

Hey, it's true... every time I walk into my local Ace Hardware and glance over at the Case display, I can almost hear my yellow cv trapper speaking to me: "Look how lonely they look, come on, you know you want to adopt them and give them a good home!" :D Luckily my wallet usually argues him out of it!

Thanks, guys! :) I deeply suspect that Zip7 hit the nail on the proverbial head:
you're in deep trouble, my man
To ease Tarmix's consternation, though:
If you are Married...... it's all over
I'm thoroughly single; not even a girlfriend. Just a boy, his dog, and a limited income :p Prolly gonna be even more limited, now ;)
good choice! that exact model is what I'm carrying right now...
billinvegas evidentally has good taste, too

Next up? Probably a Queen mini-hunter liner lock or canoe or stockman or...

OH NO! IT'S ALREADY STARTING!!! :D

It's a plot by the knife making mafia. They keep making trappers I don't have already.

The Texas Jack (jack knives in general) is one of my favorite patterns for carry.

You picked out a good one my friend. Case CV is very good pocketknife steel IMO.

Like stated above if you find yourself in need of a smaller jack knife the peanut is a awesome pattern for EDC.

You are doomed, man.

The jack is starting to be one of my favourite patterns... already have a few, will have to get more...

especially those older ones from 1940s - 1950s

OLD ? wait a minute, I was born in the 1950s??!!!

welcome to a fascinating addiction !!!

just got this old Imperial: date is betwen 1936 and 1952, according to the tand stamp

Great looking knife . Did you find it in the UK ?

Paul.

Paul,

yes, this came from an ebay seller in the UK.

Not expensive, but I think it is from nearer 1952 than 1936...

it is very cheap and cheerful, plastic scales, but nice blades, completely unused.

Clear tang stamps, USA on small blade and IMPERIAL, PROV RI on main blade.

I am mainly interested in Schrades, but I have a few old Imperials as well.

Looking through my books last night I noticed that the USAAF isssued that pattern of knife to Airmen during WW2 . Nice bit of history even if it is a later version.

Paul.

TT,

no, no lock, just a straight slippie

Scales are not very nice, I thought about replacing them with stag, but I have decided to keep it as is, more of a historical item that way.
