My girlfriend just gave me a box of stripper clips for Valentines day. Yes, I have a girl who gets me gun stuff for Valentines day.

I'm having trouble loading them so that the rounds will feed into my M44 (Mosin Nagant, 7.62x54). They seem to be greased and are from Tapco.

I asked at gunboards and was told to stagger the rounds so that the rim of the first round was to the rear of the one above it. All the other rounds should be staggered the same way.

The stipper catches on the ejector* unless I leave the first round hanging about half off the clip to move it aside.

When the rounds do feed in, they sometimes catch and won't feed.

Little help?? It seems like a lot of people have problems with this, when I get 'em to go I'll take pics and do a little writeup on it.

*ejector - the thing that catches the case when it is ejected so it flips free. is that right??

yea this thread turned out to be a lot less fun than it appeared to be.

Yep that got me too.
I thought this thread was going to be really interesting.

No help here.....

C'mon guys this is a serious problem here. My girl got me TWENTY strippers for Valentines day and I can't figure out how to use 'em.

Let me ask a stupid question. Sometimes it something simple.
Make sure you got the right strippers for your gun.

Yes. Tapco sold them as 7.62x54 Mosin-Nagant strippers. They fit into the stripper grooves and hold the rounds. I think the fault lies in how new and tight they are (always good in a stripper) or how I'm (un)loading them.

One more question. What country is your MN from. If it's a Russian MN, then I'm at a loss because it should work. If it's a Remington, Polish, Hungarian, etc then that may be your problem. But I'm just guessing.

Well it was a long shot ,but it was the only thing I could think of. Maybe someone else can help.
