This weekend it may well give Tidewater ,VA a real taste of snow. The temperatures will drop as low as 17 by Sunday night. Winds will reach into the upper 20mph range, with higher gusts. Snow accumulation of a foot is likely by tomorrow night.....all falling in 24 hours or less.

Now this is just the daily forecast for many of you, but here it will bring things to a halt.

I just made the decision to cancel our Scottish societies annual Burns Supper, with 80 reservations. It would be crazy to have them driving in what to us will be a blizzard.
 
At least you are getting snow. They are forcasting mostly sleet and ice for us. But I guess in the scheme of things either one is as bad as the other....not many down here can drive well in either so the ditches fill up with idiots. Oh well I got my bread and milk so I'm all set! Bring it on!!!
 
No burns supper !? /panic /scream

If you've got haggis that needs to be eaten, send it my way, i love the stuff. (had it wed for supper at a burns supper, and had it last night too, leftovers ! =D)

Up here in new england we call that a dusting ! *ducks*
 
Burns Supper will be held next Saturday. Haggis will be served then.

I stocked up on Guinness, so I am ready for the storm.

Yes the south will just shut down for days ! Here in the Catskill Mtns it's 6 F with a very bright moon !
 
Started snowing a couple hours ago. We have an inch by now. Winds slated to be in the mid 20's and gusts to 35 by mid-afternoon. Total forecast for my area is 12-15".

Snow and freezing rain is over. We have 8" outside, and the streets are going to freeze solid tonight. Sadly, that won't stop many idiots from going out in their cars tomorrow to "look around".

I glued up the handles on 40 fillet knives today.

40? jeesh ! =D My goal is to make 12 this YEAR =D (and thus double the total number of knives i've made thus far) So hard to find time when i'm putting in 60 to 80hours a week at work. By the time i get home i just want to pick up a book read for 30 mins and go to bed.
