Recently we spent quite a bit of time in the shop getting ready for a show. The show was our local rodeo held every year here in Tehachapi. Thought I'd share some of the work we did to get ready so we'd have stock to sell.

Made up several Boot Sheaths. This one is pictured with my own knife in it.

Made up 30 knives and sheaths. This was another one of my crazy "pushs" to get em done. Started post heat treat grinding on these blades Fri morning. Didn't work Sat and Sun as we had out of town company. Finished the knives and started the sheaths, finishing them Thurs morning. Thurs evening was the first night of the show. My buddy says I'm like that guy from Greek mythology, always pushing the rock uphill.

She was also making these "Hangers" for bosals or hacakmores (the braided noseband), out of water buffalo.

Had several different types of holsters built up. Here is one of my Rangeflap holsters.

Ya know after a week of 12-16 hour days getting ready. Ya kind of want to be like Sophie and just jump in the water trough and chase the goldfish! At the ranch with our friends Ty and Cara and their submarine dog Sophie.

Thanks for looking and questions and comments are welcome.

Thanks Keith! We're not allowed to discuss prices here. Please email with any questions like that.

Dave ,

If you get time , take some pics of the event and some of the characters that are lurking in the shadows .
I love local Rodeo's and similar occasions , because of the diversity of the people and the leatherwork that they wear and use on a daily basis .

Ken

PS- beautiful work as always .

Flawless work as always Dave. The amount of work you can get done in a push is just mind boggling! I too want to see photos of the show.

Chris

Thanks guys! The show was last weekend and I didn't take a camera. Will next time.

Love reading and looking at your posts. You work always inspires me, thank you.

Looks great as always Dave.

I do have one question though, what's the idea behind having fish in the water tank?

Thanks Pugs and Eric! Couple of ideas on that. One is that they help to keep the water cleaner by eating what they eat, picking at algae etc. The other is kinda the canary in the mine deal. As long as the fish are doing ok the water is good for the animals. Put these goldfish in about 6/7 years ago. they are 10-12" long now. In another tank we put in some and they really reproduce in there maybe 50-60 of em in there but no big ones. Different water. The big ones are in water we buy and haul from a local ag water district. The one with all the little ones is natural spring water from the ranch. Originally put 10 in each tank.

Dave, I think I could sell a dozen or more of those water buffalo belts in a hurry if it was sitting on my table - love the look of that. Awesome work as always!

Thanks Eagle and mt! Yep that water buffalo has been very popular for us.
