Depends what you want to do with it. Folder or fixed? Heavy duty? Light pocket carry? We need specifics because there are a million directions you can go in.
I would suggest to go to the Knife Maker's Market subforum here on Blade Forums.
When you see something you like, buy it.
But don't be slow. The best ones sell fast.
Go to the Knife Makers Forum and right down all the knives you like and their maker. Check the feedback for each. Then go to the Reviews section and do a search. I just ordered my first full custom, but I had a specific need. I got exactly what I wanted. I already have my next one in mind and three guys that make it. It addicting
I would recommend for your first custom that you go to a custom knife show (not a gun show) and get to meet some of the makers. Buying a custom is not just purchasing a knife but buying a piece of the maker as well. Attend one of the better custom knife shows and talk to the various makers. Ask them questions about their knives and how they made them.
Do your homework first and you will be much more happy with your first purchase.
Thanks guys, I should have mentioned I like the flippers. I ended up picking up a brous cf reloader. I know it's not a full custom, but the next one will be!
