Getting rid of glue

I have a wooden display case that had a glass top that broke. I got a new piece of glass, but when I took out the old one there was old dried glue/silicone/crap that was not allowing the new glass to be seated properly. Scraping with a screwdriver or razor doesn't seem to work well. Any ideas?

In Lowe's (and probably Home Depot too) there is actually an entire section devoted to old dried glue/silicone/crap removal.

I noticed it just recently, and was amazed at the variety of products there are for removing glue, etc.

Hey Yitz, this belongs in the Crusty Wooden Cases forum..... ;)

You need a scraper with 90° edges to get into the corner. Sharp on both edges. Trip to the paint store has just what you need.....

Scraping with a screwdriver? Oh, the atrocity of misuse....! :thumbdn: :p
