Getting rid of scratches

I just purchased a 120 from the bay. Blade looked fine but when I got it there were scratches on the blade. Is there a way to eliminate the scratches, doing it at home? SORRY FOR THE REPEAT!!

Finer sand paper will do it if you have no buffer. Sand in the same direction. You'll have to work at it. Good luck. DM

I purchased a 120 off of the Bay and looked in pretty good shape until I received it and saw the scratches. Is there anyone that can tell me an at home solution to use to get rid of the scratches.

Thank You Mr. Martin I tried crocus cloth and 50000 mesh diamond paste and I combined them and now the scratches are slowly disappearing by hand.

Be careful on the sharp corner of the grind line. It is easy to round it off.

I bought a 124 off of the bay a while back. It had been abused with a power grinder from the looks of it. I used wet dry sand paper with oil as a lubricant. I started at 220 grit and work my way up the grits. I don't remember exactly how Fine I went. I have up to 1500 grit. I went till the shine matched the parts of the blade that had not been ground.

You will get there a lot faster if you start course and work through the grits, than if you start too fine.
