Getting some French

Me thinks you are going to like the Opinel's quite a bit. And the Blacktoe pretty much tops that set off pretty well.

You will learn to appreciate the Opinels. I certainly did. I keep the #6 ones in each of my trucks. Good bang for your dollar.

And the Blacktoe damascus is beautiful! Nice pick up!

Opinels are great cutters. I EDC a #8 carbon on a regular basis and EDCed a #7 for a long time. As I have stated elsewhere the #2 is my one true EDC as it has been on my keychain for years and goes everywhere I do. Good for packages and mail and makes a cool little toothpick too.

Opinel's are great. I like my Stainless #8 but I can't wait to get carbon #8... perhaps best value knives in the world?

Thanks gaj. I had looked at your pic, but didnt look hard enough to see which ones they were. I'm thinking about getting a 9 in carbon.

The #9 would probably be the way to go if you're only going to get one, not a bad compromise size. I'll probably keep the #6 and the #10 in the kitchen, good for smaller and larger tasks.

Carbon is the way to go I think. You can get it wickedly sharp.

If you dentist, new you were using a knife for a toothpick, you'd be in deep Ka ka :D

Never understood that. Dentists always tell you not to use metal objects yet that's the first thing they do to you when you open up.
