Kay, I think I'm finally starting to get it.

Ipe and 0-1 with copper. Shaving sharp.

Still rough, but getting there.

Its pretty. Is that a convex grind?

Nice lookin' knife!

How did you finish the ipe? I made some replacement scales for a Kershaw folder. I sanded the ipe to 600 wet/dry paper with water as the lubricant. Added a coat or two of Carnuba floor wax and buffed it. Came out nice.

The ipe is sanded to 400 and then several coats of linseed oil. I'm trying to get the details perfect, such as polishing, etc. Also I need to work on making sheaths. You can't see in the photos, but there are still scratches right by the plunge and scale on the flat of the blade. It is flat ground on my 4x36 belt sander. Thank you all for your encouragement.
