Getting to Like Ti-Lites

I really didn't think it would ever happen, but I've won a few Ti-Lites (two 6-inchers and about 3-4 4-inchers), and have really started to like them. The 6-inchers aren't the ones you want to go to a jury with, but they are incredibly strong knives with an appeal that, until now, has largely been lost on me.

Does anyone here carry the larger ones on an everyday basis?

The only negative things about the ones I've ordered is, even though they were billed as "new," the holes were clogged with dirt and dust. Still, for the prices, they're steals. I got some sudsy water in the bathroom sink and dunked them in that. I then took a soft toothbrush and cleaned then. After sitting in some hot soapy water, I rinsed them good, added a drop or two of Mil-Tec and took a hot air blower to them. Seems to have worked great.

The 4 in Ti-Lite was my first knife. I carried one for awhile when my EDC focus was purely self defense. They're strong knives, great lockup, but they're designed purely to stab (although mine came extremely sharp outta the box). So I traded mine for a Spyderco. I havent regretted it.

Just outright fun knives. I've had quite a few pass though my hands over the years, sold them, got them again, etc. I don't own any now, but I'm always open to get'nem again. Yeah, they are cool!

I haven't found the blade configuration on the Ti-Lites to be that much of a problem. What can't you cut using that shape of a knife? Well, I can cut rope, packages, sealed bags and just about everything else I can think of. The knives can be made wickedly sharp and yes, they're great stabbers if you need penetration. Still, that's not bad. I have knives I like more, but in a defensive situation, the Ti-Lites would be great. As I said, though, a jury would not react well to these knives, especially the 6-incher. Still, for self defense, it's a knife you aren't likely to let go of and it has natural knife-pointing characteristics.

I've had my 4 inch titanium for a few years, and the liner lock no longer makes tight contact with the blade when open. Anyone know if I can bend the titanium to tighten up the lock without damaging it? Other than that, I love that knife.

They have peaked my curiosity so much I have a 4 in. and 6 in. on the
way(zytel). Paid $48 shipped for the 6in. and $43 for the 4 in. from
Poor Fish Outdoors on Ebay. I can't carry the 6 in. here in Texas but it
will make a cool "conversation piece". :D

The 6incher is pretty much a folding shortsword in your pocket. I was surprised it even fit in my pocket. Very thick bladestock as well. Very robust.
