Have you knifemakers with web sites had trouble getting your url's listed with Yahoo and MSN. I submitted awhile ago and my site still not listed. Any tricks or advise is appreciated.

Booger, I don't have a knife website (yet) but I do have a commercial site and it took me quite a while to get it listed. As far as I know, Yahoo won't list you in their index unless you pay for it. But, you can get listed in Google for free. When you do a search on Yahoo, they give you the yahoo matches first, and then if you click on "web page matches" they give you the results from Google. I would say it took about 3 or 4 months before I saw my site appear in google. As far as MSN, I don't know if I am listed there or not. Hope this helps a bit.

That is true
you have to pay now with Yahoo, to list in google
and many other engines and directories you need your
meta tags just right and meta tag to page relevancy
right also, I do web sites for a few businesses to
keep on top of my own sites and they list well.
if your interested, take a look at a new site I started .
 it's at www.knivesby.com
it's starting to list in yahoo web pages pretty good now
I think it #8 with key words
  custom knife makers
right above my site at # 9
if you want to find it from yahoo.
be sure to click web pages on yahoo after you type in the key words.
I'm working on getting it on the web sites part of Yahoo now .
this is a new site I'm doing for makers that don't have a site of there own.
so they can have there own pages that list well and you can control what is on it.
I've been waiting for it to start listing well..before contacting some makers
 to get one for themselves.:)

What they said.......I also have a commercial site and we have spent the last 6 months getting on the free listings.
