The indefatigable James Parker has a GF45 filet knife listed on ebay(# - 6587968472).
Since my son spends a lot of time fishing the Finger Lakes and Lake Ontario and is always happy to get another filet knife,I put a low bid in to keep the ad from being canceled.
I see that it's on the list that is published here on another thread.
I assume that it's stainless, but I was wondering if someone can confirm that.
I also see a 168UH filet knife (6587325397) listed.I've seen a lot of 167UH's but never a 168UH.It's not among those on afore-mentioned thread. The length is stated as 10 & 1/8",which about 2" shorter than the 167UH.It looks like a shorter version of the 167.
Anyone care to comment? Thanks!!!

The GF45 has a graphite composition handle, I think. Not real common, I see it listed in 1983 for $22.95, and called a "Grafillet Littlemouth". It is indeed listed as stainless.

The 168UH Walleye is indeed a smaller version of the 167UH Steelhead, as the 146OT is a smaller version of the 147OT.

The GF45 is definitley Schrade+ stianless as is the larger GF65. I really like the graphite handle on this knives and the sheath looks more like a custom made than most productions. The blades seem to have a little less flex then the 167uh but a very fine fillet indeed. I was going to stat a new thread on Schrade Fillets anyway.

As far as the 168UH, I've seen them but they often go higher then I'm willing to pay for them.
Lets see some Schrade Fillets.
THanks Rick

Calling Phil....

Please post a picture of all your folding fillets!

Ill put one together of the OT and UH's

from the top
167UH
168UH (un-scrimed)
168UH
162UH
164UH
147OT
146OT
246OT
MA5
MA6
The difference between the 146OT and 246OT is that the 246OT is more flexable. Blades are same thickness and length.

Those are some mighty handsome knives,IRV !!
I've never seen a Schrade folder.
Looks like Rick has a large collection already!
Thanks for the info and pictures, fellas.

Nice Fillets there Irv, and they do show nice on that red background. That is the first I've seen of the 146,246OTs. IMHO the 147OT is the best buy on the market right now at about 20 bucks, you could have hand full of fish slim and still not loose hold of that Safe-T-Grip handle.
THanks Rick

Rick, my son-in-law took over my 140OT Trail Boss Safe-T-Grip for his huge catfish, so I got another, which my wife took over for her kitchen, so I got another to put up in my Safe-T-Grip frame, and still have one to use in my wild game butchering. I don't do too much fish slime, but I can tell you it is a secure grip when covered with deer guts and blood! The whole series shares a common molded grip (except the 43OT, 47OT, and 49OT folders).

I used to let my wife use some of my fillets in the kitchen untill I caught her using a piece of temperd glass for a cutting board.:grumpy: Now I keep them under lock and key.

Yes,there is a 147OT listed on eBay for a BIN of $14.99.I looked at it and suspected it's Chinese. Sent the seller(ncpms) a query and he hasn't answered
so I guess he didn't like the question.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7205010669&sspagename=ADME:B:AAQ:US:1

He has two other Schrades listed and the one ad shows a box that looks suspicious.

I believe the one in the pict is USA made but he says its NEW production which means china made.
Always best to ask!

Yes,and if the shipping cost isn't stated,it's wise to ask about that.
I just got a new US made 147OT,including the tan box. Not as attractive as those 167's and 168's in your collection picture, though.
I see the same seller has another listed to go off in 6 days.

There is a farm supply store not far from me that had about a dozen 147OT maroon safe-t-grip handle last month for $12.95. If anyone is interested I can check back & see if they still have them. Email me at dalervincent@comcast.net
