I picked up a perfectly good Gladius from Knife Hunter (thank you, Trevor!), plus a perfectly awesome Leatherman Sheath that KH had custom-made. It took a college degree to figure out how to put all the belts together, and apparently it can be put in other configurations, too, but the over-the-shoulder thing works for me just great.

My cellphone with poor lighting just doesn't do the leather justice. It is one fine piece of cow.

BUT, anyone who knows me, knows that I can't sleep until I convex (and usually thin) any new Infi that comes my way. At some points I thought I had bit off more than I could sand, but fortunately I am a form-follows-function guy, and I am really pleased with the "working-blade" results. Worst case scenario was wait for my Kalamazoo sander that is my birthday present in July, but now I can "beat it silly" right away!

Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you, "GHETTIUS SLUMBLADE:"

I chopped a little on the dead tree in my backyard, and I gotta say, there isn't anything like it! It is like swinging a sharpened baseball bat! I am just lovin' life with my new user! Next step: whack some really thick hemp rope.

Looks great, Tom. Now you just have to find two trees growing close together so you can chop both directions at once.

That's pretty cool, I like it. The fact that you've made it "yours" now and aren't afraid to use it makes it even cooler.

MMMMHHHHHH, I like the smell of what you are cooking there with that!

Wish I had a Gladius!

Very cool and congratulations, Tom! Now you can make oven sized loaves and be able to slice them up. :p I kid, but seriously, I miss the taste of your cookies, they were great!

What's really sweet about the gladius is if you don't use it for a while and then pick it up again it is still a rush like the first time. ;)

I love it:cool: one of the best trades ever:)

I got enough bread and cookies that I had to get deep freezer:D

Thanks brother:thumbup:

Just think of the shish-kebab you could make with that thing.

And ... it's a fantastic bagel-toaster!

Man, that is just plain sick!:thumbup:

Very nice!!!! I'm glad you like the sheath!!! :D :D :D

yea, I did get a little carried away with the options huh? :o

Ah, I see. When you posted the other day that you had a work-in progress Gladius, I was wondering what that was all about. Thought maybe it was another brand, or some DIY project.

Can you explain the difference between the two edges?

I narrowed one a little more than the other, keeping one axe-like and one sharper for rope-whacking and lighter work. My thought was, if the sharper side ever dulled, the more obtuse one would keep om chopping a long time. Or break bricks and such.

Of course, being infi, I probably wont ever wear even one side out on a camping trip.

Update:
I "finished" the area at the top of the fuller. Next will be the area right in front of the handles. Then I'm done. For now. I think.

It's a giant razor now, too!
