So,

As many of you know, I have a work sharp because I am was sharpening challenged.
After watching Mr Fisk's vid, I jealously wanted to duplicate what he did, to the best of my ability.
I worked up the nerve, and ground the secondary bevel off with the work sharp guardless, then moved to the guards for cleaning up the edge 220 grit.
Then since I dont have stones or strops, I loaded the 660 grit belt and went to town.
All through out I kept the blade damp with WD 40.
I thought this knife was sharp before........
It is only a testament to the skills of Mr Fisk and others who have posted sharpening tips and tricks, that my sharpening impaired self could do this.
It is insanely sharp. I know I know I need to post pics.
I am going to borrow the camera from my shop tomorrow and post pics.
Thank you Thank you to Mr Fisk for the sharpening vid, and to those who attempted it before me and commented on it.
I am actually kind of scared of this knife now ..lol
I am sure there are people who could make the edge I put on it look like a rolling pin, but its sharper than my expensive Henckle kitchen knives, and I could shave with it now.

Anyway if I can do it, anyone can do it. Ghetto Fisk ing with a worksharp ..lol Good luck, and good night.

awesome. spooky sharp. cutting off table legs with the flick of a wrist

I throw a pretty mean edge, if I do say so myself, it just takes time and understanding is all.

Watchin Fisk run knives on that grinder was like watching fingers on a violin though. You can tell, he's at home with everything he was doing, and could teach/talk/cut up with us while he was doing it. Oh, and all you had to do was mention sharpening, and you and he were off to the grinder.

I'm glad to hear you are getting the hang of it. Only sharp knives are interesting. :D

I watched the video's by Mr. Fisk as well and never alluded myself to the fact that it just might not be quite as easy as he makes it look. Good description Moose. I picked up a work sharp as well. So far, it sits in its box looking at me like I'm an opponent to be beaten. Haven't quite worked up to it yet but this weekend might be the time it gets out of the box. Have a couple of throw aways that are in need of an edge and I am definitely in need of practice.
