It had to be done. (Sorry. For an ex-pro photographer, I take pretty crappy pics in this digital era.)

I'm not sure I am done, but even with tools my hands are killing me. That's all for now.

Fantastic so far. I love the raptor grips, but needed thinner. I will know how it works better as I use it.

Nice work!!! Looks really good!!!
I plan to hand smooth mine as well but not quite as thin.

Good work! That looks nice! Funny that you started this thread today. I was just about to do the same for this knife

I was curious to see how the black paper would look hand-shaped when I saw you mention it in that other thread. Let us know how you like it after some use, it looks like it would be very comfortable

OK, so I haven't chopped with it, but I have been tossing it around a bit. I also went ahead and put some minimal vegie oil on the slabs. Looks and feels better every time I pick it up. My hand just goes right were it works best. Only thing I should have done different is taped off the blade. Good thing I like users and I know how to buff out bigger scratches.

Funny, i was planning to smooth my nmfshcg scales a little bit, just to take about half the texture off. I chopped a 43" circumferance log the other day, and with gloves it was fine, but barehanded it felt rough. I'm just going to hand sand them with some 220 grit, then maybe a little higher depending how it feels.
That black canvas looks awesome, Tyrade.

I wish I had a NMFSH to play with :(

I wish you did too Big Brotha Brown. If I could pay forward all that has been done for me since stumbling into Bussedom, there would be a lot more people INFItiated.

Nice work. I just had a chance today to handle a NMFSH, and found the palm swell a might fat for my taste, much like the 'golf ball effect' that LVC refers to. could definitely see sanding it down some.

Those both look great! Sometimes all it takes is a little sanding to transform a good feeling knife into an excellent feeling knife.
