I don’t start many new threads around here, but I did something today that I have to share. I have a DCBB HOG B8 that I hit up with some 400 grit sandpaper for a ghetto satin finish, and I can’t be more pleased with the results. It has this crazy cool look that pics can’t capture, like well used bead blasted Striders for those of you who have them. The best part is, is that it only took me about 20-30min. The stains/spots near the belly of the blade are spots where it was used before I sanded it. I’m sure I’m not the first person to do this, but I don’t do many mods and I am stoked with this one so here is mine, and I encourage those of you who’ve done similar mods to show them off.

On a sidenote, anyone who is willing to re-post my pics is welcome to do so, and thank you in advance.

Thanks guys. And thanks for reposting my pictures nydude. I just wish the camera could show it the same way it looks in person. I was really happy with the cross-hatch pattern on the one side of the ricasso, almost like BIG finish. Too bad it wasn’t on both sides. All good though, still happy.

Looks great! Mine is the same as yours. I used it to trim some trees the day I got it so to clean it up I hit it with the buffer and some rouge. I love the look and the crosshatch is awesome! Best of all, I never gave thought to bruising up the satin finish I didn't have :D

Very cool, I always love seeing someone dive into making a knife their own!
