What are the specifics in design and purpose of a Ghopte khukuri? (I checked the threads and found only interpretations of Ghopte khukuris.)

Welcome Hans,

The Ghopte like the Hanshee (lambendh style) khukuri is a severely curved khukuri.
The ghopte is just a beefier version of this style.
It was kind of a one off here and wasnt a big seller as far as i can tell.

I actually wouldn't mind having a ridiculously curvy khuk. I think the most severely "bent" one I have is the Boomerang AK. Fun khuk and a mean chopper for its size. I don't think I'd have use for a 20" one, but a 14-17" hook-shaped khuk would be kinda fun to swing:)

Thanks for the reception. And I like strongly curved khukuris, too. Is there any benefit from this other than improved chopping?

I have always felt, and this is just personal opinion, that the curved khuks would make more formidable weapons of war. When you swing the curvier blade down, it travels in an arch that would drive the point deeply into the target. As gruesome as it sounds, I would think a curved blade would make quick work of heads and limbs and driving the tip downward at shoulder height would certainly reach the vitals of the heart and major arteries.

Just a guess based on how my curvier than average M-43 feels when I swing it.
