Hi all,

Wasn't sure how heavy contouring would look with the AKS Ghost Black G10, but I like it! What do you all think...

3.25 inch S110V Clip point (full flat grind. Tapered tang .156 at the thickest. Handle is AKS Ghost Black G10 with white and black liners, SS Large Corby and lanyard tube.

Lots of belly, flat grind should be a good slicer. Nice contouring of the handle too.
Thanks for sharing

very nice contouring. how is the ghost black different from the regular black ? its hard to tell from the photos and usa knifemakers website.

Ghost Black is 3/16 Ghost Jade G10 laminated on 3/16 Black G10. AKS has several different color versions. With the ghost jade on top, it gives a unique, almost pearlescent appearance on top. I need to build a light box :)

Thanks guys!

John, I just finished the sheath and sharpening. I'll try to get a picture wet that may enhance the appearance of the G10 in the picture.

Here you go, these show the appearance a bit better. The white specks are not air bubbles, just lint from the napkin.

Very nice finish on the blade, I bet that s110v is a real bear to work with.

Hi Scott! Thanks! It's not fun, But I actually prefer it to most other steels. It is not fun to profile, a pain to work with post HT, which is why I do my finish work prior to HT. I will take it to 2000 or 2500 grit prior to HT, then back it off to where I want it after, usually 600-800 grit.

The edge holding and corrosion resistance are exceptional and worth the effort.

I have made close to 50 blades with S110V now and don't see why it is not more popular in EDC or skinner sized blades.

I like the profile of the knife and the coke bottled handle looks well executed. If I were to make this style knife (and I have) I would center the corby over the handle belly and the lanyard tube at the butt center radius, .400" on center back from the edge.

Thanks TK! Will do that on the next one. I have a few more glued up that I used this type of positioning for the hardware.
