This thread has been running in the supplies for sale forum since late last year; http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=681265
Today I was on the forum where the thread should be posted and could not find it. By clicking on: find all threads started by Fred Rowe and then clicking on the bubble jig thread listed there, I could access the thread. I saw at that time that someone had posted a comment on the thread that I wished to answer; I did so. I posted my reply and saw the thread listed on the makers main page under the supplies for sale forum. When I went to the forum to see
that the thread was actually there, I found that it was in fact not there or anywhere else on that forum.

Can you tell me where this thread has disappeared to?

Regards, Fred

Fred, check the last few pages here. Your thread is there, just sorted by OP now.

As Kiah said, your post is still around, just not where you expected it to be.

Spark is currently running a test on the whole of The Exchange. Basically, the default for the forum sort order was changed in such a way that prevents bumping, the cause of many a headaches around here.

With this test has come a new set of rules which can be seen HERE.

For the time being, though, you will likely want to repost your thread anew to get it back towards the front.

I see my classification is now listed as [knifemaker/craftsman/service provider] I went to the link supplied and read the information pertaining to my classification; I seem to be abiding by all the rules listed. I don't bump this thread until it gets back three pages which is long past the 72 hour rule.
This evening when I posted on the thread I was responding to a comment left by a satisfied customer which should have resulted in the thread being moved to the top of the first page, which was not the case.

When you suggest that I repost this thread; how do I go about reposting all nine pages?
The Bubble Jig thread contains page after page of positive comments and feedback about my small invention which is vital in providing first hand information, to potential buyers about the product that I manufacture.
Do you wish me to repost this thread to save bandwidth?

Thank you for any direction you can give me

I still cannot locate this thread on the forum other than going through my control panel.:(

All Knifemakers have that classification now. It now includes people who make other things like sheaths, lanyards, Ti doodads, etc. You can change the title to just "Knifemaker" or whatever you want in the User CP ( I think).

It was done for all threads in the sale areas. Nothing you did, bro. It's an attempt to cut down on all the useless "email sent" "nice knife" etc. bumping that clutters the forums. Now nothing gets bumped for any reason. It's more like classified ads now.

You can't repost all nine pages. You can repost the original post and that's it. Eventually it will be moved back as well. The easiest way to have people see the entire thread is to link to it in your sig.

For the most part, the new way is better. It lends itself greatly to individual sales threads by not having them get bumped by chatter. Unfortunately for the few threads like this one, it's not gonna be optimal, because while threads can build, they won't be constantly seen everytime someone posts. So, while it's better for selling a few things at a time, it's not good for ongoing business threads.

As Kevin said in the other thread, it's not gonna make everyone happy, and it won't fit a very fews' way of selling, but it will be better for the majority. A forum thread is not ideal in the first place for an ongoing product, and as it is now these ongoing threads are not gonna stay on the front page forever anymore.

Fred, there are a few ideas about what to do to keep ongoing information available.

As Kiah said, you can link it in your sig line.
Subscribe to your threads and you can find them in your User CP.
If you pay 3 years knifemaker membership at one time, Spark will set you up with a forum.
You could post a new thread with a link to the original, and close it so conversation will continue as before.
