Over the past 2 years, I've picked up 4 different Buck 110's & 112's that were customized by a gentleman that goes by the name of 'Ghostown'. Has anyone seen any of his creations up for bids or sale lately?

Very nice indeed. I saw one up for sale last year & asked about it. The seller didn't know much about Ghosttown. Just said he did some custom work for Buck at one time. If I remember correctly, he wanted $475 for a 110. And that was reduced from $675. It was nice, but considering what the Yellowhorse version's we're going for, I thought it was overpriced.
Where did you find yours?

I saw my first Buck 110 'Ghostown' on Ebay in 2003 & was lucky enough to be the high bidder. I was hooked after I saw Ghostown's craftsmanship in person! Tom Lansing at Classic Guns & Knives had some Ghostown's but haven't seen any new knives for sale in awhile. The other Ghostown's were found on Ebay, also. Never did find out much about 'Ghostown', the man. I like Yellowhorse crafted Bucks, too, but 'Ghostown' is just somewhat more detailed in my eyes.

JMO,
But the Ghostown's have quite a bit more detail work then most Yellowhorse's. He uses precious metals and usually at least one old silver coin to differentiate his work. His conversions (Like the bottom 3 on the left.....Clydetz, you lucky devil.. :D ) are VERY nice.

Both live here in AZ, and do nice work.....but I've never seen either of them at a show. :(

It's He!! to be second in a two man sprint.... :D

Clydetz was quicker than a Ghostown auto.....

I can't add any helpful info to the subject but can say that the guy does awesome work!
They do pop up for sale on Ebay from time to time and it seems as though they are gaining in popularity and price.

Thanks for the input everyone. I guess I'll just continue wandering around looking to stumble over the next 'Ghostown' to maybe add to my small collection. Just a note... I don't believe 'Ghostown' does the auto conversions but all the other craftsmanship is his.

No idea who performed the conversions and if my memory is correct... it was Tom at Classic that I had asked. I've seen pixs of several non-auto Buck 'Ghostowns' but 3 out of the 4 I have are autos. The way I understood it was that 'Ghostown' was given the knife (auto or non-auto) and more or less 'commissioned' to apply his fantastic craft. Not much to go on, I know.

who is this gost town? i have seen some of his knives and they are NICE !! but have heard nothing of who he is .... can any one fill in and clue me up? thx dave

Here's what I have heard about 'Ghostown' (sounds like he chose the right nickname)...

-He's in Arizona
-He does outstanding work
-At one time, he was set up in an old bus out in the desert
-He does not have a website... probably doesn't have a phone
-He has visited Classic Guns & Knives

You might find a few other threads if you do a search of 'Ghostown'.

Ghostown sold his home and was traveling the country in a motor home at one point. He has returned to Arizona, not sure that he has a permanent location at this time. He has done alot of work on the Buck knives, but don't know that Buck has sold any through their channels.

David Yellowhorse is going strong in north Arizona, doing alot of work on the Buck knives. David, Brian and Ron will be at the Blade Show, having a display in the Buck Collectors Club area of displays. Brian and Ron have been doing alot of great new creations, having a outstanding mentor to help and guide them in the business.

Everyone is invited to visit with the Buck Collectors Club displays at the Blade Show in Atlanta, June 3-5. The BCC will also be having their annual club meeting on Saturday. Come visit with the Buck Family of collectors.

Thank you, Iron City! :) First one I've seen without turquoise on both sides of the handle and it's not an auto.

Hmmmnnnn. Quite a bit different then a full fledged 'Ghostown'. 334dave has also made me aware of this one. Thanks! I'm following the bidding on this one.

Probably quite a bit different because the handles we're done by someone else....Richard Somebody?. Nice knife, but not 100% Ghostown. If that means anything.

Yep! Richard Chischilly whose work is similar to Yellowhorse's. Don't really know if Chischilly is related to Yellowhorse; at one time I thought so?
