Saw it this afternoon, watchable, but just barely.

One sorta funny scene in the whole flick, the rest is just really boring.

My wife, son and I caught it yesterday. Being a huge comics-geek, I had to see it.

It was... enjoyable... mostly. the story could have been a whole lot better, which would ahve made the movie better. I put it below the Spiderman/Xmen movies and about on par with Daredevil.

The special effects were excellent, and Nicolas Cage was good. If he wasn't in it, I think the movie would be about Electra level.

Saw it, liked it okay. C+\B-. Good way to kill the afternoon on a cold President's Day off from work.

Could have been a lot better. Not so dark as it should have been, although the end almost got there. Johnny Blaze's "introspection" and reading on religion and the occult could have been good but Cage played it off almost as a joke. Thankfully, it didn't get too cheesy. I like pretty much all comic book adaptations unless they get cheesy. Although I think Eva Mendes is lovely, I didn't think she did much in this movie.

Peter Fonda as Mephistopheles? Please. He was scarier in Ulee's Gold. His quiet menace was more like sleepwalking.

Stephen Hunter in his Washington Post review commented that it seemed to be great effects looking for a decent plot. I haven't seen it, so I cannot comment. I liked the graphic novel, though.

It was okay, but I had pretty high hopes since I loved the Ghost Rider comics. The plot suffered from having to establish the backstory and origin. I don't know how good of an actress Eva Mendes is, but she sure is purty.

One of the big problems was casting. Peter Fonda is just not scary (except for his acting). I think they cast him strictly for the pop-culture connection to Easy Rider. And the other villains, especially the Goth-ish guy, were awful. Really the pseudo-goth should have done us all a favor and just stayed home and listened to emo.
And why is it the main demon/fallen angel villains manage to survive for hundreds or thousands of years and yet are sooo dumb?
Argggggggh!
I like Nick Cage, he is occasionally a very good actor but sometimes he is also a little too goofy.
I am a big fan of the old and new ghost rider series but the movie definitely relied too much on the newer series.
I was really looking forward to this movie but it was mediocre at best.
The flaming bike and Eva Mendes were the best things in the movie, both great eye candy!

What about the chain and hellfire shotgun? Were those corny?

The chain was cool My son's favorite parts of the movie were when he whipped out the chain. Not corny. The shotgun, well, it was only at the end and kind of came out of nowhere, so it was a little odd.
