gi joe swords

i just noticed that someone is releasing the swords of snake eyes and storm shadow, tow of my favorite characters from my childhood. anyone know anything about them? they are 200 bucks each and, other then the nostalgia factor, are they any good?

Depends on what you want them to do.
Hang on the wall? They might do that, although they kind of look silly.

They are junk, I wouldn't take one for free.
 
GI Joe is an American Hero.

I always loved Zartan, even though he was on the wrong side. I knew he would convert some day.

I mean after all, Duke, Dusty, and everybody else went over to Cobra and then came back. :D

Low Light was another baddy.
 
Everyone here who knows anything about GI- Joe knows that Destro was the true power behind the throne lol. Yea so what I was a GI-Joe freak when I was a kid. Someone ought to take the creator of these two so called swords:foot: outside and pimp slap him for sullying the good name of GI-Joe. What's next a He-man sword?

They already have Thundercats swords out there:grumpy:

Step out of the 70's and get into the 80's :p
 
Well I was going to call the pack of you youngsters "red sword" indeed. That was the second version of storm shadow 3 3/4 inch version. The original had a black sword, bow, nunchucks and a wakizashi too if I remember correctly. I've still got mine put away somewhere along with a pile of other stuff complete with all weapons and filecards. Someday it will be worth a pile of money. :rolleyes: However if n2s has one of the kung fu grip versions he's got me beat apparently I'm not as old as I thought. :)

Oh as far as the swords go: I wouldn't use them on a bet. However if you like the way they look as decorative pieces they would probably be fun.
 
the first stromshadow was black sword, bow, nunchucks and wak, like triton said. i have that one ;) i kept all my joes, gonna give em to a son if i ever have one. definetly do not use those swords, though they look kool as hell, (ok snake eyes' looks kinda dorky) i bet they are stainless.
 
The name Zartan in Arabic would be roughly equivalent to the name "Farto" in English. Just thought I'd mention that for no reason.
 
Blahaha good to know... I guess. I've got that one too complete with swamp skier thingy, all padding and disguise mask and case. Go me. :)
 
I've handled both swords, they are pretty well done, they don't rattle at all and are very sold. No edge of coarse, probably going to be a collectors item
