My niece and nephew came to see Foo Fighters in Concert in Fresno on Friday, and today I took them to Giant Forest in Sequoia National Park.

Looking up at General Sherman, the largest tree in the world:

The President, which was recently accurately cored and dated to be 3400 years old

At Moro Rock you get a sense of the vertical. I live at 300' above sea level in the San Joaquin Valley, and Moro Rock is 6700', so from there you are looking down 6400' to the valley, and turning around you are looking up 7000' to Black Kaweah, which is 13,765' (that's 4195M for those of you across the pond). I can see Black Kaweah from my house, making the visible vertical from my house to Black Kaweah over 13,400'.

I really like Giant Forest, and go there as often as I can.

Wow... The circomfence of those rees are allmost as big as the country I live in (the Netherlands)!
Amazing Thanks for sharing.

Hi! This is amazing :)! I remember you posted something about these giant trees sometimes back and I am again in awe. Wonders of Mother Nature :)! Thanks for sharing, really nice pics and something I am really not familiar with .

Nice pictures and those trees are HUGE. Never have been there and would like to spend at least a day exploring. I like how you keep your camera horizontal on the scenic long distance landscapes. That gives perspective.
