Gift a knife won't you?

We all have our list of things we would like to get for ourselves during this time of the year. However, consider gifting a knife to someone you think might make use of one. You don't have to actually go out and buy one. I know a lot of y'all have some impressively large collections and there may be one or two in there you can part with. It feels good to give. Really.

Now, I know some of y'all don't need any reminders as I already have seen lots of generosity in the forums from folks willing to send someone a knife because they lost one and can't replace it just now, giveaways, etc. It's really cool to see that sort of thing.

All the best!

Gave my dad an early gift of a Northwoods Indian River Jack. Gave our assistant principal a SAK Classic about three weeks ago as an early gift. No other knives are going out this year due to the fact that every knife I gave out last year is still in its box. I am going to quit wasting my time. Knives make great gifts its just getting the person to use them that kills me.

I'm sending a Kershaw RAM to one of my best friends who is currently serving in the Navy :thumbup:

I got my 14 year old brother-in-law a Bucklite Max for x-mas. He doesn't have a decent knife, just a S&W Tactical that he complains about getting dull too quickly while dressing deer (after I sharpened it he didn't complain as much though) and a Frosts folding stiletto thing that my father-in-law picked up for $5.

I wanted something made in the USA with a pocket clip, as he hardly ever wears a belt, and something he could open one handed. Of course, it'll take and hold a great edge too. I also wanted something that I wouldn't cry about if he lost it, LOL.

My people celebrate the birth of the Christ in October, and we give gifts at that time.
I gave a Buck 301 to a good friend of mine. He liked it.

I also gave a KaBar USMC knife to one of my pastors. He had a Camillus when he was leading a Marine rifle company in 'Nam in the 60's. He gave the Camillus to one of his guys as he came home. He told me he missed it. The Kabar was as close as I could come in a new knife. He loved it.

Somebody give me the email of an active duty soldier in the sandbox and I will give them the choice of one of three knives as a thank you for service.

just gave my tenacious out of my pocket to a friend last week because he had to cut something, then said " man i need to get some money for a knife" now im minus 1 tenacious

I gift knives quite often (family and friends mostly). Some of my peeps are actually getting a bit tired of it -- that's something I just can't empathize with -- so more knives it is!

Last year I gave Spyderco Tenacious and Kershaw Select Fire knives to friends and coworkers. I was thinking about what to give this year. Any ideas/suggestions?

I'm thinking about giving my Reese framelocked CQC7b to my neighbor/roommate. He was my neighbor for a year until his wife told him to get lost because she's talking to some other dude. He told me the news on Thanksgiving night so we offered our spare room. He was a badass neighbor and now an even more badass roommate.

This knife is the very same knife in Reese's website under Emersons.

Edit... I put it outside his door with a Merry early Christmas note.

I've bought a few extra Sanrenmu knives with the express idea to give them away. They're very affordable yet remarkably convincing.

I'm giving a buck paklite skinner that I had custom duracoat and barb-wire job done on to my roomy. Its done in green and white. She is a graduate of Marshall University and a huge fan of there football team so it made sense. She also digged the one I had done for myself. :)

I give my kids and others knives all the time. I decided many years ago to only give knives for birthdays, special accomplishments, Christmas, etc. Luckily my 3 sons love knives just as much as I do. I got my son, who is in the military, a Zero Tolerance 350 folder, my Border Patrol son a Zero Tolerance 121 fixed blade, my youngest son, who is on a church mission, a SAK TrailMaster. My daughter, the professional chef, gets chef knives and mini-griptillians, same goes for my daughter and son-in-law. The money I save on wrapping paper I get to use to buy more knives. Yahooie! Everyone wins!! Merry Christmas everyone. Stay warm and safe.
