A friend of mine and beginning knife maker bought this Devin Thomas Birds Eye Damascus and wanted me to make him a folder out of it . I started it about six months ago double stamped my name and got aggravated so I put it on the back burner until a day or two ago and decided I'd finish it up. Turned out O K. So now I'am just going to give it to him.
Bolsters - David Winston damascus
Handle scales-Sambar Stag
Liners-Tit.anadized blue
How about some feedback on this folder. How do you like it? Thanks and Merry CHRISTmas to everyone, Mike

I really like this knife :)
If it were me, I'd change the bolster a little bit. Just a little bit shorter, maybe trim it down to where the screw is. I think it would look a little more balanced that way. Everybody's opinion is different on stuff like that though, its a very nice looking knife still.

I like to have some type of gaurd to keep your hand from sliding forward also. Doesn't have to be anything major, maybe just continue the curve of the knife handle so that the bolsters curves back down at the front a little bit.

Really is a nice peice though  Things like I mentioned are really minor, and everyone will have a different preference.

Beutifull! I love the sambar and your friend should be very happy. I agree with Bruce, I need friends like you! :D

Hey Mike, old friend old buddy old pal. I love it . Aint nothin wrong with that.

How about mentioning me in your will for all that stag :)

Mike - Job well done! Shoot some photos next time your doing filework....I need to give that a try ;)

Mike that's sweet! Funny how things are, I kinda like the long bolster so like Matt said we all have different tastes. The stag is fantastic, this is a perfect application for it and the knife looks like a warm handful. It's nice when setting something aside for a while yields such a great result.

But really - don't you like me better than that other guy? Even better than Mark? I'm a super fellow and do appreciate a fine free knife! ;)

The "double stamp" will probably only add value to the knife in years to come.

Nice looking knife, old buddy, old friend, old pal of mine (hint, hint, hint)

Robert
