I know everyone is probably sick of looking at my belt knives, but I wanted to show the set that I will be gifting to a soldier in a couple days.
He has mentioned wanting a tomahawk before, because the issued ones are kinda crap. I know he can't afford one, so I decided to give him one, along with a matching belt knife.
He is getting deployed later this year, and I want him to have the tools he needs to make it home safely. Not trying to toot my own horn here, I just feel it is important to support our troops whenever we can.
Anyway, I won't jabber on anymore, here are a couple pics of the set.

The sheaths are setup with Molle Loks.

Ben,

I agree with everyone.
Very cool thing to do.
Do you make your own kydex sheaths ?

Great set up and gesture! I was never in the service. The majority of my friends were. I have always respected those that enlist. I have a seven and four year old now and teach (harp on) them to respect those in uniform and to always thank uniformed personnel for their service. Thank you, for thanking this servicemen with your gesture.

Great looking set Ben. I can't even imagine how happy this Soldier is going to be. Thank for showing us and you did a very generous and thoughtful deed.
IMO, we can't do enough for our servicemen and women.:thumbup:

Thanks very much all for the kind comments. I will be giving the set to him on Monday if I see him, I will let everyone know what he thinks. He doesn't know I made them at all yet. :D

Thanks Doug. And yes, I do my own kydex sheaths.

Great set and a wonderful gesture of appreciation for the soldier! Folks who appreciate fine knives enjoy looking at your work.

That is a nice solid looking package. Any serviceman would proud and well served with that set-up.
Thanks to you for taking care of our guys! Every effort like this is wonderful and let's the serviceman know they are appreciated.

Hi Ben,

I got impressed by your fine craftsmanship. Would you try to forge something of my design?

It is going to be a broad-head Spontoon tomahawk, it is intended as a purpose-built tool, a combat fighter that can do some metal (2-3 mm thick) hacks.

Return me the message if you got interested.

Thanks guys.

I just gave them to him a little bit ago, to say he was happy is an understatement! Apparently due to budget cuts, they are having to buy a lot of the equipment they normally wouldn't have to, including extra mags! Kinda sad really.
I am glad I was able to help with a least one part of his needed equipment.
