Wanted to make something special for my Dad's 70th. I'm still green at this craft, this is only the 3rd knife I've made. But I did my best to do my best. The blade is 1080 and I gun blued it. My dad and I have the same name and pretty close to the same signature, so I thought etching the signature would be a cool touch. The handle looks chunky but it is crazy comfortable in the hand. Function over form I guess. Maybe I'm being too critical, but when you want it to be perfect you lament not having more skill I guess. Well, just I said with the last 2...."The next one is going to be AMAZING!" haha

It's a great looking knife and the signature is a nice touch
I have the same name as my dad too and an identical signature,it's from forging his name on letters given to me by my teachers for him to read and sign
I just wish I was as good at forging blades as I was at forging signatures

Sweet!!!! I'd love to be there to witness your dad's reaction.

Nothing wrong with the pursuit of perfection, that's the only way we'll get there.

Thanks Guys. Just sharpened it up last night. That took forever. I really need to get some diamond hones for the lansky. Gonna make the sheath tonight and get it ready for presentation. I really appreciate all the encouragement and support I get here.
