Gift for my Woods Bumming Buddy

My bushcraft buddy(my wifes uncle) is getting married this weekend. As a gift from me to him I contacted FourtyTwoBlades & he set me up with a "SpecialGrade" Tramontina Bolo! It came in the mail today & I took it straight to the garage for some slight mods :D First I made a cardboard sheath...I wrapped the cardboard completely with cleap packing tape & then a second layer of Camo DuctTape. I then drilled a lanyard hole in the handle & added a 550cord lanyard. I then put his initials in the handle(both sides) & took my torch & burnt the wood around the initials. I also added a coat of Orange paint to the end of the handle. Keep him in your prayers...He also just recently found out he has lung cancer:(

The lanyard looks just perfect on that--great work! :cool::thumbup:

Like I was telling ya' I'll certainly be keeping your buddy in my thoughts. Hope everything works out well for him and he enjoys his new chopper!
 
14" Tram Bolo is a fantastic gift - my favorite chopper by a large margin. Hope the best for your buddy, my nephew just got a clean bill of health from a long fight with the C.

Thanks guys...I won this custom on here a few years ago, I gave it to him when I won it, he still has it & loves it ! This will go nice with the machete & the two should take care of all his bushcraft needs !
