A while ago I won a giveaway right here on the Traditional forum. I was quite happy, it was the first and only giveaway I had ever won. Turns out the fine gentleman that hosted the giveaway was also busy raising a small daughter and expecting another bundle of joy very soon! Needless to say I insisted that he not even think about sending me anything until his baby was born and things had calmed down a bit. We sent a few messages back and forth and a new friendship was forged, now that fine gentleman made good on his promise and more!

I received a package from our very own Dan (LKJW) with some great cutlery and a bottle of wine from a winery just down the road from him. I couldn't be happier!

Here is what I was lucky enough to receive:

The SAK is awesome, it has nearly every tool I could ever want in a SAK. Not to mention this is my first large SAK (have a classic on my keychain). I had a chance to test the saw out and that thing is a monster, its VERY thin and just zooms through wood. The scissors are extremely useful, I don't know if they're larger than usual but they are pretty sizeable.

The Camillus stockman was a complete surprise, it was not part of the giveaway and was just a gift from from Dan. Let me tell you this thing is sweet! It's such an awesome package, the size of a Buck 303, the blades are ground just perfectly, its got some real slicing power. The sheepsfoot and spey blade are even thinner stock than the main blade and it makes them some mean cutters. I've already used it to install a small AC unit and it was a joy to use. I've had a modern Buck 303 before, but it wasn't like this one, this Camillus just feels better somehow.

We haven't had a chance to taste the bottle of wine, but I am going to use it as an excuse to cook a nice dinner (I'm thinkin braised short ribs!) and have a nice evening at home.

Thank you Dan! I am a happy knife knut today!

Very nice. Congrats Vic, and good on you Dan!

My parents visited Chateau St. Jean last time they were out visiting my uncle in Napa. It was one of their favorite vineyards. It also happens to be one of our (my wife and I) favorite cabernets.

Stoked you got everything. It was my pleasure, Vic. And as soon as I take some pictures I'm going to show these people a truly gentlemanly gesture. ;)

Good job, gentlemen!

Two more reasons to love this forum.

That´s a great story, guys! A very nice gesture. Vic, I hope you have some fine hours with that wine. Cheers! (or "Prost" - as we say here in Bavaria)
