So I have a neighbor who moved in about 5 months ago. Hes a cool guy and we get along great. We've done each other a bunch of small favors so far. I dont mind helping him out because unlike alot of neighbors, he selflessly always returns the favor. Just a good guy. He left this on my doorstep after returning from the outdoor antique market on Sunday.

I hit it with the wire wheel in a few spots and its not nearly as bad as it looks.

It looks to be a domestic double bit and it's 'half-life' has been achieved. By the time the toe wear is straightened out and the blade re-profiled there will be much steel missing over what was there originally. That aside, start searching for a stamp! A Kelly Perfect or other 'top drawer' name and brand is worthy of resurrecting when you consider what's currently hanging on Hardware Store racks.

I intend to restore and hang it. I know nothing about axes and just collect random items. I'll be sure to update if I find a stamp.

You don't want to go to all that trouble and discover 'Super Quality' or 'K-Mart' is etched on the head.
