I am getting ready to purchase a Griptilian for my Father for a milestone birthday and would like to get it engraved with a scripture verse (Proverbs 20:7). He gave me a Kershaw Blur Glassbreaker as a gift to celebrate the birth of my son a few years ago with Matthew 3:17 engraved on it and I think this will be a fitting reciprocation of that meaningful gift. The Blur I have is DLC coated and the engraving looks great and stands out from the blade.
My question is whether I should get the Griptilian in the BK1 coating (black) or the H20 version which is corrosion resistant shiny steel. The vendor (one of the sponsors here ) offers free engraving and the price difference is negligible. The handle color will be orange of that favors into your suggestions.
This will likely just see normal EDC use up through handy man chores but probably not serious hard use. I'm not particularly concerned about corrosion given the likely duties it will serve. The trade off seems to he that the engraving will look better with the black but the silver might stay looking better over the long haul.
Thanks in advance for everyone's input.
