One of my older friends saw my BF86 knife and really liked it. Started reminiscing about simpler times and dinosaurs roaming the earth, blah blah. Anyway, I thought it would be nice to get him something similar for Christmas. Does anyone have any suggestions in the $50-$100 range? Thanks!

I also thought about maybe just getting him a SAK.

The Kershaw Culpepper is one-bladed and pinchable, but more like $30.

Or a Case sodbuster with nice handles? Or a Granddaddy Barlow, if pockets and jurisdiction permit?

suppose the anguses wouldve been it, but, youd be hard pressed to find one in that price range even though thats more or less what they went for in the top of that $50-100 range.

These Otter Anchor knives are pretty cool looking and have a similar vibe to the 2019 BF knife. If that's the one that you are talking about.

So I think that we are going to have to start calling them 21BF86 or 19BF86 to avoid similar confusion.
I meant the 2021 version, but that otter knife could be a contender

For $50-60 you can’t beat the Otter anchor small or large.

Since your friend admired the current Forum Knife, and it's a big one, why not get a CASE Large Stockman? It's well within price range, can be got in stainless or cv and many scale choices. This one, Amber Bone cv, maybe not from Dinosaur Era but Old Timey :D
