Hey all,

Never had anything usefull to add on the forums; at least nothing you guys haven't said yet. This time I just had to post...

Two weeks ago I found a knife made by a custom knifemaker on one of the knifeforums I visit that looked very much like an Izula.

I emailed the link to the knife ad and translated some of the text in the ad. Guess what? Mike and Jeff mailed me an Izula with kit as a 'small gift' for my help! Can't get any better :D

Mike and Jeff must be very happy gents because they can't be rich ;). Giving free knives to people who already like their stuff for years, crazy way of doing business.

Anyway, the Izula is going with me to the Thailand jungle next month.

Thanks RC!

Michiel

Cool stuff broski. Have fun in Thailand and remember, DO NOT ask the sketchy looking American if he's there on vacation. Just accept the beer he bought you and remember that Thailand doesn't extradite wanted American criminals.

Also, no matter how many times you ask the taxi driver where the "reclining Buddha" is, he'll still think you're asking about a massage parlor!

True story.

looking foward to pics. thailand huh, make sure to look up some black market contacts for everyone.;) would mind going there myself someday but i think my first stop in asia would have to be to the northeast in japan. have fun an stay safe. ps. watch out for pirates.

lol; all good advice. Will try and remember to take pictures. As for the sketchy american; I won't ask if he's there on holiday.

Haha, I've been warned about the massage with 'happy ending'. Even better; I'll ask explicitly for a non happy ending muscle rub :D Or maybe not. Don't tell the girlfriend.

Still trying to get some leads and contacts through some Thai members on british bladeforums. Also making an effort to visit Moonless knives, even though they don't respond to my e-mails and not giving their adress. Ah well, the adventure starts as soon as we leave the airport. We only booked a ticket to Bangkok and a day later to Chaing Mai in the north for our jungle trekkings. Hoping to find a guide who's into the bushcraft stuff.
