Gifted an Infidel, warranty question

Hello everyone! I recently went to a party, and noticed a benchmade infidel pocket clip making its rounds. I waited til most everyone had left and finally asked the owner about it. We talked in length about knives, gear, etc..... he showed up at my place of work a few days later with an older Benchmade Infidel as a gift. Its much older variant I think, has its share of edc wear, but it has some issues. The blade fires and locks but will not fully retract every time, is missing 2 screws, and it seems it may need the screws on the pocket clip replaced. I have no idea how this knife has been used or if anything has been done to it. Will benchmade look at it for me and possibly warranty it? I'm not looking for refurbishment of any type as I actually really like the battle scars on the handle and blade.... just operational and safe.

Asking because I'm new to @Benchmade

Send it in, pay $30 for a new blade, and everything else should be taken care of. The only hitch is going to be getting it back into your hands depending on where you live...

I think they will ship it back to an authorized BM retailer after filling out paperwork.

Another option is shipping it to a friend in oregon and have them send it in for repair for you and when your friend gets it back ship it to you. Because benchmade is in oregon they can ship it anywhere in Oregon no problem, because I think its still technically illegal to ship switchblades over state linea even if no one acknowledges it

I don’t mind $30 for a new blade. I’ll give them a call tomorrow and see about shipping. Autos are legal here. Thanks

Autos are legal here, but I’ll reach out to them tomorrow and get a final say so on how to approach this. Thanks

Your both right about the shipping part. While I haven’t talked to benchmade about autos..... Microtech is willing to ship where it’s legal.

I could be mistaken about crossing state lines with autos but pretty sure the feda say don't use usps. I hope you get your knife back in good shape, the infidels are a great auto.

The official answer is that unless your Leo, MIL, or first responder that you must go through a benchmade dealer who actually sells their autos. Our family is moving to Tennessee very soon so I’m going to wait and send it through smoky mountain knife works.
