Gifting a Gold membership, how can I do it?

I'd like to give a Gold Membership to a forumite as a gift. Is there a way for me to do that?

Thank you. I don't know how to tell him. I started through the upgrade procedure and was hesitant to go too far. It appeared that it was going to add to my own. Is there a way to get in touch with spark before I do it?
 
Well, I found the place where you can pay for a Gold Membership for someone else and did just as it says. I put in the message area in the order form who it was for. Does anyone know what happens now? Do I get contacted about activating it or does the recipiant get notified?
 
You should get a 1SKS receipt for your payment and I think they get notified too -- they also have to go through their User CP and Group Membership to click onto their new title.

I just received that this morning. There's no reference to the member that I bought it for in the receipt. I've e-mailed the member and asked him to go to his user CP and see if the Gold membership is available to him there, but I haven't heard back from him.

I hope I haven't done something wrong in the way I ordered it.:confused:
 
We got it, it'll be processed today
 
Plumberdv, if he's a Registered User now, you or he can click on his name at the top of a post to get the pull-down menu. If it refers to private messaging, that means the Gold has gone through.

Then he only has to go to his User CP and down the left side to Group Memberships, where he can click on his new title, activating it under his name.

Here's what you do.... Type my username into a PM and tell Spark you want to buy me a Gold membership. Give him your payment info and wa-la! It's a done deal. Let me know if you'd like to upgrade me to platinum! Thanks buddy! :cool:

Doesn't seem to be quite as simple or as fast as that. I did the thing last Thursday. ;)
