I am a little broke this year but have four people to buy a knife for. Two of the people are kids. I am thinking in my price range of no more than twenty bucks they are getting Mora, or Victorinox. Any other suggestions?

Rough Rider makes some decent Knives for the money they cost.! Think they start around $8 and go from there and I got a few for my Nephews and I know they will like them.**

Kershaw has a Christmas special with two knives and a light, SAKs are always good though. :)

You said it best! Get the kids Victorinox's, and I'm assuming the others are adults, get them Moras! I'm sure they'll be happy. :)

hard to beat Opinel. I got one on a well known online retailer, and it would have been well under 20 bucks without the promo offer I got, but it was about 3 bucks with their "special offer". its a no.8 carbone with a leather pocket sheath, and it may be the easiest knife to put an unbelievable edge on of any Ive owned, and it seems to hold it well, too. Im thinking about getting my oldest daughter one this year, as she lost the frost toothpick I bought her last year.

Victorinox Recruit. Good for adults and kids. You can order them for $15 or less at the big box store everybody loves to hate in every town across the land.

Anything Victorinox or Wenger. You pretty much can't go wrong with either one. Leatherman also makes a few good tools for a hair over $20. I can't tell you how many times a good Leatherman would have come in handy when I was a kid. Heck, even now one would help frequently.

I'd go with a couple of Opinels and maybe whittle a little something special into the handle for each person on your list. You don't have to be a master woodcarver or anything and it's a nice personal touch that you can't buy in a store! If you keep it simple, you might be surprised by the results! Here's a photo of my first try carving an Opinel...

Good luck, OP! :)
