Anybody have experience with Gigand's stuff? I was thinking of picking me up a Shockwave. I know the company was founded by Dr. Fred Carter, but other than that I am in the dark? Is the quality good? Or am I just wasting my time? Thanks for any and all replies.

I have had 2 Gigand Spectrums. Both were nice knives, and fit and finish were good. That particular model was not really suited for heavy duty work, but filled the role of gents knife well. IMO the knives are a good value, and I dont think you could go wrong buying one or a few.

My wife carries a blue Titan everyday and loves it. Its well made and I like the fact that it comes with its own adjusting tools. It looks pretty good too and it keeps her away from my William Henry T12CF, BM 850 and Sebenza. I had to throw the Sebenza in, it just came today..lol

I recently purchased a Gigand Shockwave with carbon fiber scales.

The opening and closing action on this folder is among the smoothest I have felt on a production knife.

The knife is solidly constructed with thick stainless steel liners. Because of this, the Shockwave is thicker than most "gentleman's" knives.

The liner lock is solid and locks right at the start of the tang.

I don't have my Shockwave in front of me because my father fell in love with the knife and walked off with it.

Overall, it's quite a nice knife for the money.

i have a shockwave and am very pleased with it except the clip screws are turning free and i hardly carried it.

Chris22,

About 8 months ago, I got a red Al Titan. I really like it for the money. AUS8 blade, smooth action, solid lock-up, nice size...all for about $30. I also have a Guardian clip point which I carry in the yard as a "beater". After I'm done sweating all over it, I rinse it off, dry it and go on without worrying.
