Just wondering if anyone has ever seen this wood used on a knife before? I have looked around the net and cannot find another example.. Anyway, I used some on my last knife. I don't know much about it except it is a very hard wood (my bandsaw didn't even like it and usually it cuts through anything like butter ), it's native to Australia and a member of the eucalyptus family. I'm pretty happy with this knife and how it turned out. Enjoy!

That is a beauty. Cool contrasting colors. I like the way you left the eyes open instead of filling them. I think the open eyes give it a unique natural look that adds to the overall look of the knife.

I have no clue as to whether or not it's been used before, but I think is is almost SEXY looking!

I too like the fact that you left it open.

Do you have a source for this wood, or was it a one time shot?

Beautiful knife too.

One of the other forum members Adam Parker of Parker Knives is a member of the Australian Knife Makers Guild. He has some really good connections for Australian woods like this. He might be a good person to ask. He has helped me to get some really cool wood from down there.

I have some but it is much holier, I got it at Blade last year, I havent used it yet but I think it is very cool. Nice job
