Man, a company I used to love has really gotten off track. Saw a picture of the owner, while posing with a knife and trying to light a fire with his cigarette lighter claiming the knife helped start the fire, the pile of crap he's trying to light could no more become a fire than a bowl of ceral, he's wearing a motorcycle racing jacket and fatigues claiming he got stuck out in 4*4 land while working, oh and don't let me leave out he states that the knife he used to start the fire (even though the picture shows him trying to light that pile of crap with a lighter not fire steel) was used five or so days before to pry open a solid steel front door.

Mind numbing, sorry I had to vent. No reason to do this kinda crap, concentrate on engineering and manufacturing quality knives and you won't have to resort to this kinda gimmicky, cheesy, crap. If your going to do this atleast know your market enough to stage a good picture use words like out in the woods as opposed to 4*4 land, maybe try wearing more woods appropriate clothing as opposed to your leather racing jacket, and last but not least at least assemble something that could even remotely resemble a starter fire instead of a pile of wet leaves, some cigarette butts and a like 3 green sticks that are too large to catch. @#$@##$#$, really, seriously, has it come to this?

All I can say is this sort of advertising works.

There are a lot of people that are willing to buy into the concept. They will never likely use their knife for actual survival (or even get out of their office with it) but they will spend many dollars on the idea that they own a knife that can slay kings, open bank vaults, align the planets, etc.

You can hate it, but it exists for a reason. I suggest celebrating the joy that you are not powerless to it.

This advertising works only for non-knifenuts. (e.g. the weak minded) Fools.....oh by the way, what company was it?

So, do they still make good knives?
If so, no worries. Buy the knives for the knives.
If not, don't buy them.

Thats the problem the quality control has gone down hill, the new owner is out to lunch, doesn't have a clue about knives are knife people. The new super cheesy advertising didn't start until new ownership.

Sounds like LT is at it again.
