Gin 1 steel

I just bought a knife with the much talked about S30V steel. I also happen to come across a very good deal on two new knives made of Gin 1. I feel good still with ATS34, 154, VG10, 440V. I need a feel on what this steel is like. Even a comparison to 440C would give some idea of what I am considering. Thanks for your help in advance. Clay

The only stainless I've used befor is ATS-34, and compared to that the cpm-s30v I have tested I get about three time the number of rope cuts, and it's a little harder to sharpen on the india stone. Also a good bit harder to get a good hand-rubed finish, posible just takes more sandpaper.

I don't feel it's big enough differance not to buy/sell/use a knife of ATS-34, which is still a good steel.

Maybe I rambled too much on the original post. I want to know about Gin 1 and what is comparable to. I think that it substandard to ATS34, but don't know by how much. Is Gin 1 similar to 440 C or is it still lower on the want list for blade steel? Thanks
