That is exceptional!

Where should I start!

The Koa is beautiful with a deep grain and a 3D look, the carving of the ricasso/intergal has great flow. The sheath is simple and elegent! And the temper lines pull it all together.

I do admire your work, and would love to watch your process.

What he said!

wonderful blade as usual, beautiful koa, and I especially love the little wave line on the sheath that match the wood grain.

Fantastic work.

That is a fantastic knife. The Ginkgo wood really completes the whole package. I tried taking Gingko supplements to improve my memory, but I couldn't remember if I took them or not.

yet another gorgeous knife.

That truly is exceptional! Wonderful blade design and flow with shape and materials.

You are "the man" when it comes to flow Gerhard. You made a fairly basic knife look exceptional with your design and sculpting. AWESOME piece of koa!

Gerhard, let me just say that I absolutely LOVE your work!

If you ever find the time and inclination, I think that a WIP thread on how you work your magic would be pure gold!

thank you all for looking and your kind words,
I´m glad you like my ´way of knife´!

unfortunatelly I never found more similar pieces of koa... most are ´only´ striped.
this one repeates perfectly the outlines of the leaf on the spine (and influenced the design of the sheath).

michael,
thanks for your statement, I appreciate it so much!
I´ll try to make a WIP this fall when my ´show-season´ ends....( and hopefully my shop will be a bit more cleaned up- )

best regards
gerhard

Just exquisite work

That Koa is what's called "ribbon" or "compression" curl, and the way it's cut is what gives it those "rays"

of course, using it in this fashion - that's pure Gerhard :D
