That's a really pretty piece, Bill. As meticulous and well done as always. I love that hunk of bone! The foto of the blade is well worth blowing up to see that the steel construction is even more complicated than it first appears. Very cool.

That is a sharp knife. I like it very much. The lines are beautiful. Giraffe will over come its bad rap with exposure in work like this.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the comments.

Thanks Mike, not many understand the time and manipulation needed to produce some of these mosaic patterns. Heck I don't even understand how I get what I end up with sometimes. :D Are you miss'in that press yet? If you ever want to play just come on down, we'll heat, beat and squish out something and while your here you can help me with a quillion dagger. ;)

Thanks again,

Bill

Bill, I thought that dagger you showed looked all ready for submission as it stood.... That was a wonderfully elegant piece.

I'm sure I'll have some pangs come Spring and the press isn't there. I know I did the right thing, though. My body can't take smithy work anymore, and I couldn't handle watching it rust away more than it had already. I had been hoping to see a pic of it in it's new home, but I never heard another word after it went down the road...

I still have a bunch of 1084 and 15N20, though.:D Maybe someday we could squish some steel together again. That sure was fun. Thank you for the invite!

Fitz it was fun and I learned more in those couple days then I have since, your always welcome here. I don't think your press has been setup yet, but then again I don't know for sure, I talked to Corbin at the St. Louis show and he said Ron wasn't back to making knives yet, the last time I called him he was to busy to talk much so I guess he's keepin busy still building that house and shop.

Karl, I bought a full leg bone from a local guy 2 years ago, it was about 3' long. I cut most of it up for folder scales and gave some of the bigger pieces away. I need to contact that guy and see if he has anymore available yet.
Those big pieces are hard to find because they can cut several scales from a piece like this and make more money selling them.

Thanks again guys,

Bill

It's a beauty Bill

Your damascus work especially this mosaic pattern is just great

Thanks for showing this piece
